In her new book, which she will be presenting exclusively at this event in Germany, Neiman analyses the current crisis of democracy from a moral-philosophical perspective and shows how the normalisation of misconduct undermines trust in the rule of law and leads to the erosion of shared values. As director of the Einstein Forum, Susan Neiman has repeatedly intervened passionately in public debates and does not shy away from calling a spade a spade. For example, why Trump should be called ‘evil’ rather than ‘authoritarian’, and why ‘morality’ is, strangely enough, often taken as a term of abuse.
