The following statement by the Literaturhaus Berlin was drawn up on 27 April 2026. Progress on accessibility
We are committed to designing our website in such a way that it is accessible to people with various impairments and disabilities and can be used with as few restrictions as possible. This includes, amongst other things, the following measures:
– Information about the Literaturhaus Berlin and its work is provided in ‘Easy Language’ (Leichte Sprache) and as a video in German Sign Language.
– On all pages containing general information, we use alternative text for photos and images.
– The content on this website is structured in such a way that it can be presented in different ways using assistive technologies.
– Users can customise the readability and visual presentation of the website to suit their individual needs using contrast adjustment, colour inversion, and the ‘low-stimulation’ display mode.
Accessibility limitations
Some content is not yet fully accessible. This applies in particular to the live streams of our events, which are not currently interpreted into German Sign Language. Implementing this would currently involve a disproportionate technical and financial burden. Furthermore, not all older images on this website have alternative text, and not all videos in the programme archive have subtitles. In addition, external content and documents linked to from this website may not be accessible in some cases. We are continuously exploring ways to gradually remove these limitations and further improve the accessibility of our services.
You can purchase tickets for our events and merchandise from the Literaturhaus Berlin via our online shop. This is operated by our service provider, Tickettoaster GmbH. The Literaturhaus Berlin has no influence over the accessibility of the online shop.
