Accessibility on Site
We are working to ensure that everyone can take part in our events – both online and on-site – with as few barriers as possible. On this page, we provide information on accessible travel to the Literaturhaus Berlin by public transport, access to the building, and the on-site facilities.

Accessible travel
Literaturhaus Berlin e.V.
Fasanenstraße 23
10719 Berlin
The Literaturhaus does not have its own car park. Public disabled parking spaces are available in the underground car park of the Hotel Bristol (Park ONE Tiefgarage Kempinski Plaza) at Uhlandstraße 180, 350 metres from the Literaturhaus. The underground car park has a wheelchair-accessible entrance.
The nearest accessible underground station is the U1 Uhlandstraße station.
It is situated approximately 100 metres from the Literaturhaus and has a lift connecting the platform to street level (Kurfürstendamm / Fasanenstraße).
The nearest bus stop is U Uhlandstr., 190 metres away. Bus routes M19, M29, X10, 109, 110 and N10 stop there.
Visitors with mobility or visual impairments can use the VBB’s assistance service.
Access to the Literaturhaus Berlin, café and bookshop
The Literaturhaus Berlin has a lift enabling people with disabilities to access the event rooms on the first floor, the Großer Saal (Main Hall) and the Kleiner Saal (Small Hall), as well as the Kaminzimmer (Fireplace Room) in the lower foyer. The Wintergarten café-restaurant can also be reached via the lower foyer. The door to the café is fitted with an accessible automatic push-button. Unfortunately, the Kohlhaas bookshop is not currently accessible. We are working on a solution.
You can reach the lift via the Literaturhaus garden.
Sanitary facilities
The visitors’ toilets in the basement are accessible via the lift. There is one accessible toilet there.
Ticket discounts
People with a severe disability card bearing the ‘B’ mark (Merkzeichen B) or equivalent international certificates pay the reduced admission price for all events and are entitled to a free ticket for one accompanying person.
Please register your accompanying person before the event by telephone on +49 (0)30 887 286 0 or by email at reidenbach@literaturhaus-berlin.de so that we can reserve a free ticket for them.
