Meaning does not arrive all at once, but through associations: a silhouette, a texture, a fragment of language becoming entangled with the viewer’s own memories and intuitions.

Working between textile and installation, with vintage German textiles and text-based works, Joachim Perez attends to the point where intimate experience meets inherited language and prescribed form. The act of making is slow and insistently repetitive as it produces images, but also records duration. It traces the ways power takes material form. He has built up an installation, and it remains up for the rest of the week.
