That is why, in our workshops, we work together to strengthen our ‘courage muscle’. We teach approaches to action art and artistic activism. We talk about actions, our methods of action art, and our visions; we form groups and inspire people to take action themselves. Using the tools of performance art, we empower you to articulate your concerns and goals and to develop ways of achieving them. A political, creative and energising workshop designed to inspire your own stance. Over croissants and orange juice, we strike up conversations, exchange ideas and build precisely what is needed for courageous ideas: community.

Forty years after the opening of the first Literaturhaus in the German-speaking world, we take a closer look in this live podcast at three new releases from 1986 that were presented at the Li-Be at the time, and see how they have stood the test of time. In the 75th episode of »Berlins Schönste Seiten«, Janika Gelinek, Sonja Longolius and Felix Müller will be speaking live on the Li-Be stage about Brigitte Kronauer’s »Berittener Bogenschütze«, Barbara Honigmann’s »Roman von einem Kinde« and »Buch der Könige« by Klaus Theweleit.

»Niewiedervereinigung« is the title of Paula Fürstenberg’s memoir, to which we have added a question mark in our headline, as this is precisely what the historian and journalist René Schlott (born in Thuringia in 1977) wishes to discuss with his guests. On the 36th anniversary of German reunification, how do Paula Fürstenberg (born in Brandenburg in 1987), and Jana Hensel (born in 1976 in Saxony) look back in their memoirs on a country that no longer exists, and how does Lukas Rietzschel (born in 1994 in Saxony) give literary form to the pressing questions of contemporary German-German history?
