Gedankenflieger Berlin – Philosophieren mit Kindern
It can be gentle and quiet. Or powerful and loud. Sometimes, it is simply defiant: »Now more than ever!« Hope manifests in various ways. It is an invincible force deep within you. And it strengthens and accompanies you – in good times and bad.
Being hopeful means looking ahead. Seeing the good. Expecting the best. And above all: trusting in yourself and your abilities. Of course, this isn’t always easy. Sometimes courage is lacking. And not every hope is fulfilled. Yet, it is worth choosing hope anew each day.
The Junges Literaturhaus Berlin is once again becoming a launchpad for the successful educational program »Gedankenflieger,« which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year! Guided by picture-book stories and supported by a magazine designed specifically for »Gedankenflieger,« participants engage in age-appropriate philosophical discussion. Along the way, there are opportunities for crafting, painting, and writing. The workshops invite children to develop their own thoughts, articulate them, and share them for discussion – without fear of judgment. What values do the children share with others? How do they perceive – and learn to respect – other, perhaps opposing, opinions? And what hopes do the Berlin primary school children themselves hold?
Hamburg-based author and philosopher Jörg Bernardy – acting as the »pilot« – looks forward to welcoming many new passengers!
The workshops are designed for primary school classes (grades 1–4) and last 90 minutes.
In cooperation with »Gedankenflieger« and with the kind support of the Federal Agency for Civic Education (Bundeszentrale für politische Bildung).
